We are Josh and Molly, parents of four children and on an unexpected journey of homesteading and much more…welcome!

We lived in small-town city neighborhoods our whole lives. Houses close together. A small front yard, maybe a back yard, too. Close to schools, parks, grocery stores, shopping, and entertainment. Plenty of cars and trucks going by at most times of the day. Normal to us.
But there was always a desire for some “property,” even though we didn’t know what that meant to us. One day, we found out that the city would be putting in a road directly behind our house, and our motivation to move went up…a lot! Soon after, we saw a listing for a 15-acre property and thought it could work out, so we agreed to look into it more and signed papers shortly thereafter. And off we go…

So, Why the blog?
Good question. For us, it’s 1) a way for us and others to follow our journey, and 2) a piece of the “modern-day farmer” pie that we’re making. Maybe one day it will be part of our income. So, that’s why. 🙂
